Tyler Thomas' Thesis

I just clicked on Tyler Thomas' to see what it was about, and when I saw it involved V for Vendetta (a movie I've seen) I thought it would be interesting and different from the other things I read. I was especially compelled to read it when I saw it was written like a play. That was such a different and seemingly difficult idea! Considering she went to NYU though and was a fantastic actress, it makes sense.

I didn't feel like this thesis would have many sources. It became more clear when I saw how the thesis was written--it was more of an examination. Researching anarchism and other forms of control in history requires much research in fact.

I thought the introduction and prologue were cleverly written and quite entrancing. I could hear a deep and sophisticated voice in my head. It was clever, because for those who haven't seen/read V for Vendetta they had no excuse to not understand the latter, because they had supposedly already read the informative introduction.

This thesis showed the creativity we are allowed in this project. This is a definitely a thesis I will look up to when doing mine. Her choice of words and the imagery were all so inspiring. Not only that but the ideas as well. I just returned from the WWII museum and I'm pretty interested in that area so this was perfect. As I was reading I could tell the enthusiasm Tyler had for this topic. I hope I can display my enthusiasm in the same way. Another thing is I never once checked to see how many more pages I had to read, because it was all so intriguing. I thoroughly enjoyed this thesis, and it's a topic I never would have thought of.

  1. Now I want to read her thesis! I have never seen the movie but I am going to run to Blockbuster today. Her take on this book/movie is so original AND interesting! I hope to be able to be original in my thesis.
