TT#3; Value of a Thesis

"What is the value of a thesis? What's meaningful for you?"

A legit thesis is a complex task. It requires a lot of hard work, determination, research, thoughts, ideas, and creativity. My guess is that throughout this process we will all learn at least one thing. Whether it be about ourself, our idea/topic, the things we interact with, etc. As I've mentioned before, this thesis is something that requires everything we have. We have to use all of our previous knowledge, all of our critical thinking skills that we've been working on, all of our character traits we've been researching and create something unique and elaborate.

Obviously one of the valuable things that will come out of our thesis is the research. By this I mean, we will be learning so much and in a sense "becoming experts" on our topic. We will have looked at it from many different angles and gone into so much detail that hey we can write 20 pages on it! I think that knowledge will be valuable. I also think the experience will be valuable in the long run. In college I'm sure we will have assignments like this more than once. I know, at least for my brother, he had to write a thesis at the end of graduate school. This just puts us one step ahead, because we've already done it!

What's meaningful for me is honestly just completing it. I think if I can get through this whole program successfully that little thesis will be something I value for the rest of my life. I'm hoping that it will be something I'm really proud of. I still have papers from years back that I like to read, and I definitely see this being one of them. The thesis itself is meaningful, because it represents all of the hard work we did. Literally. It has all of the sources we used in it, all of our (useful) ideas, and all of the information we learned. That's pretty cool when you think about it.

....I feel really "cheesy" now. Thank you Nick Leo.
