1/30/12

Another day in the cave. I'm actually not minding the cave. At the end of the class period I don't even want to pack up to go to the next class.

So my topic has been narrowed recently, and it seems as though my final thesis is going to include a study. What am I studying? Children in daycare environments as well as children who do not participate in daycare. I'm excited about that part. That includes creating surveys and interview questions as well as observing the children themselves. I filmed the little girl I babysit the other day just because she's so cute, and I happened to catch her putting a puzzle together!

I feel pretty good about my proposal, it just needs to be revised and made more relevant now. One of the top things on my list of priorities is emailing the EHS daycare. I'm hesitant to start, because I don't know exactly what to say and I'm nervous about how they will respond to, "I want you to watch your children and judge you". So that's where I am right now. I still have much research to do (as do all of us). I was a bit disappointed to find out that our school library has no books on child psychology or development. But that's okay because I'm excited about going to the public library. I just need to find time. I also ordered two books that I think will be really helpful!
